Vanuatu Missionary Trip
Praise to our Lord, God Jesus Christ for his wonderful providence and his blessings. We do know that he works things out his own way for the good of those that fear Him.
For two weeks I have had the wonderful opportunity of visiting the islands of Vanuatu to open the way for establishing our mission in this island nation.
Vanuatu is still recovering from the effects of cyclone Pama, the evidences of which could be seen in the villages. Yet the Lord has continued to bless the island with the growth of vegetation and of course restored gardens and food supplies. It was fortunate that some islands of Vanuatu, for instance Santo which is the largest island was not as severely affected as Efate where Port Vila is situated, and so continues to be the main supplier of local food crops to the main urban centre.
I spent some time on the Island of Epi, which lies north of Efate where the capital Port Vila is situated. It takes 8 hours by boat to travel from Port Vila to reach the island or 30 minutes by plane.
Bro Don William has fully accepted our message and stands ready to be baptised.
On his island, Bro Don has a coconut plantation for copra production, peanut farms and vegetable gardens. He also is responsible for a church group on his land, consisting of more than 50 members. Despite the remote location of this area, we have now an approximately more than 50 candidates for baptism. Truly the Lord has opened doors in this island, with people coming for the truth.
I would take the opportunity to thank the Lord for this experience and for his loving care and guidance on this missionary trip, and I also wish to thank the Union Office for all the assistance provided in the finances and the prayers as well as the spiritual support of all our brethren at large.
May we continue to seek for the heavenly promise of the latter rain to strengthen the work that it may be soon completed and we are gathered home!
