Fijian Spiritual Conference
‘And the Lord said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.’ Exodus 34:27
Indeed, God is making a solemn covenant with His true people!
The Fijian brethren experienced another occasion of God’s wonderful providence during our recent Spiritual Conference. Not only did we have the opportunity to be revisited by our Union leader Bro Anton Salavyov, but also with the baptism of the first Ni Vanuatu brethren here in Fiji.
Members from other branches of our church outside of Suva all gathered together at the Suva church, where Bro Salavyov held the meeting on various topics from Friday to Sunday. Bro Salavyov presented clear and detailed historical information in regard to the Biblical development of Adventism which repeats the same bitter experiences as ancient Israel. Additionally he clarified the present prophesied reality in which many believers could be deceived easily by misunderstanding. The Bible states clearly that God has only one temple, one altar, one Jerusalem and one bride. He has only one church and only one flock with sheep who are in the process of unification into one body by recognizing Christ’s voice of truth and purity. On the other hand the prophetic word of God shows us clearly, that at our present time another unification process will unite all fallen churches and groups in “one great city of Babylon” the “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Rev 17:5. We feel that the time was too short indeed to complete all that we needed, yet we received what was sufficient! It was a relief to most of us, especially when a lot was in question regarding the separation of the Adventist movements with our local people. This occasion also re-established our members’ confidence in the truth.
On Sunday 28th of June, Bro Don William from Vanuatu renewed his covenant with the Lord and was baptised by Bro Anton Salavyov at the Suva foreshore.
Holy Communion and foot washing followed afterwards and then we all shared a wonderful lunch.
The brethren gathered together again on Sunday evening where Bro Salavyov informed the members of the decision of the Union for the need to ordain Bro Sanaila Ravia as an elder for the work not only for Fiji, but also for the region. All members were in agreement and the ordination was performed successfully.
Bro Anton Salavyov reminded us of the need for full cooperation and unity with the Holy Spirit in the Lord’s work. We cannot do the work, unless we are led by the Lord and it is our responsibility to secure that close connection necessary with Christ!
We farewelled Bro Salavyov and Bro Don, yet parted with the full blessing of the Spirit of God to continue the work until we Shall Meet Again!
